About Sarah
I've been teaching piano in WinnipegCalgary for 12 years, after completing my Bachelor of Music at the University of ManitobaCalgary. I specialize in beginner through RCM Grade 6 students β that critical foundation phase where habits, posture, and a love of practice all get formed.
My studio is recital-focused. Every spring my students perform at our group recital at St. John's CathedralKnox United Church, and I prepare students for the Manitoba Music Festival and RCM exams every year. I'm also one of the RCM's official examiners for our region, which means I see what the standards actually look like at every grade.
Lessons are 30 minutes for beginners (ages 5β8), 45 minutes for intermediate students, and 60 minutes for serious exam-prep students. I currently have 2 in-home lesson slots and 4 studio slots available.

Sarah has been teaching my daughter for two years and the progress is incredible. She passed RCM 3 last June with First Class Honours and is genuinely excited for her lessons every week. Sarah is firm but kind, and the recital prep is excellent. Highly recommend.
My son is 6 and Sarah was so patient with him through the "I don't want to practice" phase. Now he sits down voluntarily to play "for fun." That's the win. Her in-home rate is fair for what she brings.
Excellent teacher. My daughter went from never having touched a piano to playing her first festival piece in one season. Sarah's recital event in the spring is genuinely lovely β well-organized, supportive of all skill levels.
